Surviving committee minutes cover the period from 1888 to 1900. Melrose Borough Council was set up under the Municipal Corporations Act 1886. It had previously been part of the Wellington Highway Board. Board and Committee minutes are arranged in meeting date order. Each volume is indexed by subject matter, with the indexes included in the same volume.
