(v. 1. p.997-897; v. 2, p. 986-886).

The first letter is dated October 1899 but it is not known when the series finishes as v. 3, Series 00302 is missing. There are no entries at the back of v. 4, Series 00302. The last entry in v.2 is dated 17 April 1901. They do not appear to be entered in the index at the front of the volumes.

Most of the letters and memos are signed 'Geo. Wiltshire for the City Engineer'. G Wiltshire was Assistant to the City Engineer; he was appointed in December 1883 as Assistant to the Surveyor (Register 00231:0:2, 1883/6716) and resigned for medical reasons in September 1902 (WCC MB, 00166/13, p.444).
