Archives Identifier00323Date Range1918-1964DescriptionThese books contain excerpts from the minutes of the Milk Committee and other relevant Council and Committee meetings, such as Staff, along with annotations on instructions given or decisions reached at those meetings. The annotations, in pen, pencil and as a stamp, indicate the action taken as a result of these 'instructions', such as 'Report adopted', or 'Letter sent', with dates and the manager's initials. There are often additional notes and comments or information sheets pasted in, such as lists of staff with salary increases, etc. There are no indexes, so the volume need to be accessed in relation to the indexed minute books. The contents cover all areas of the Milk Department work - supplies from farmers and dairy factories, transport to the milk station and its staff, operations, plants and equipment including the move from Dixon Street to Tory Street, deliveries and the licensing of roundsmen (including the change over to night delivery in 1924), and prosecutions under Bylaws, the Food and Drug Act.Quantity (Linear Metres)0.77MediumBound VolumeSystem of ArrangementChronological by date of Council or Committee meetingCollection TypeWellington City Council
