It also includes photographs of Council works, as requested by various departments. The negatives are 4x5, with some medium format and 120mm film and a combination of polyester-based negatives and acetate-based negatives. The series is believed to have been created by Alister K Bristow, History Librarian at the Wellington Public Library. The Library's Annual Reports indicate that between 1951 and 1963, A K Bristow in his role as Historical Records and Photography Librarian, took some 3000 images at the request of Council departments. [00001-24/38 Parts 3-5]Quantity (Linear Metres)1MediumPhotographSystem of ArrangementThe items have been listed in the order that they were found. The negatives were originally stored in glassine bags and had identifying information written in blue ink on the outside of the bag. This information has been transferred to Vernon and the negatives repackaged in acid free envelopes. 10x15cm blue cards had also been used to divide the negatives into areas of subject. The negatives had probably been kept in alphabetical order, by subject matter. However, by the time the negatives had been processed the original order had been lost. Supplementary information form the blue cards has been transferred to Vernon, and the cards destroyed. A numerical sequence was assigned.
