It has two sections using different form pages, but that continue in chronological order - one has pages numbered 134-195 up to 1956; the other with 'C' before the page numbers begins in 1956 and begins with an alphabetical listing - 'Apportionment of interest 1956/57, Sinking Fund accounts'. This volume has been retained as there are no general Town Clerk files or Minute books for the Sinking Fund Commission for this period; only for earlier than 1951 and after 1979. There are files on the appointment of Commissioners that contain minor general information. (00001:1668:50/352) Town Clerk's loan files contain documents recording the setting up of a Sinking Fund in each case and this is reported to the Finance Committee (e.g 00001:946:27/5/1). There are also indvidual Town Clerk's 27/- of personal loans obtained through the Sinking Fund.
