The files include papers relating to:

- maintenance contracts (painting, cleaning, gorse clearing, etc) on Council properties and land including Council-built flats, houses and other properties relating to recreation reserves, Zoo, libraries, Plunket Rooms, MED, Traffic, parking buildings, etc
- leases for commerical buildings, open car parks and parking buildings, shop and advertising concessions (e.g. at the airport),
- the purchase and sale of property by the Council re housing staff, road works, sewage schemes, public buildings, etc.
- claims for damages from Council to private properties re poor maintenace of sewerage, works, etc.
