They are possibly underground network drawings recording the exact position of cables. They also contain the names of businesses featured on the maps. A map of Wellington with the title Municipal Electricity Department (MED) Control System. This was possibly the original system for controlling the streetlights and water heating circuits.

The dates for these maps are estimated.
