WCC, City Planning and Design Department Heritage Library
Descriptive Data
Archives Identifier00736Date Range1968-2015DescriptionThe Heritage team formed a reference library of a variety of reports, publications, research resources and periodicals, both published and unpublished, produced by external and Council agencies relating to conservation and heritage subjects. Most of the reports are Conservation Plans (for buildings and sites), Archaeological monitoring or assessment and their Drafts. Some items may be duplicated on related files. There is research around policy building and comparative supporting information within this library, as it relates to the decisions that were made around Built Heritage Policy within the Council.Quantity (Linear Metres)6MediumFileSystem of ArrangementIn order of when they were received, originally kept in magazine shelving display boxes. Processing priority was given to conservation reports when being reviewed by Moira Smith (Senior Heritage Advisor from the City Planning and Design Department), so they were processed in first. Items were then attempted to be grouped by subject or policy building supporting information. This information was originally grouped as a reference Library with subgrouping into Reports; Journals; Books; and Resources. This subgrouping was not strictly held to during review/appraisal, as the review process broke the subgrouping as information was reviewed and sorted. Journals were retained if they had a direct relation to a Wellington heritage property - which was added into the description field.Collection TypeWellington City Council
