Archives IdentifierAC102Date Range1941-1970DescriptionThis series contains index cards for the correspondence that the Chief Engineer’s Department entered into with various companies and organisations as well as internal correspondence with other Wellington Harbour Board departments. Most of the correspondence the cards refer to was either placed onto files in series AC058 or copied into the Engineer’s Letter Books in series AC027. The card system appears to have been created circa 1941 which corresponds with when the Engineer’s file system was set up (see series AC058). The cards were updated until 1970, when they ceased to be used. The cards are arranged alphabetically by department, company or organisation name. They record the date the correspondence was sent or received, the letter book reference it might relate to, a description of the topic of the correspondence and the Engineer’s file it was copied onto.
