Archives IdentifierAC110Date Range1980DescriptionThis series comprises aerial photographs covering parts of Wellington Harbour where the Wellington Harbour Board owned land or ran facilities. The prints were commissioned in 1980 and produced by New Zealand Aerial Mapping, as an update to the Harbour Boards previous sets of aerial photographs (see series AC108, AC109), and cover the whole of Wellington Harbour. No correspondence has been found to confirm why the Harbour Board purchased them. It is assumed that as with previous sets the aerials provided a record of development taking place, and helped with future planning. The prints are at a scale of 1:30,000. Each individual print is indexed using an alpha numeric code created by NZ Aerial Mapping. Each letter represents a different flyover and the number represents each photo taken during that particular run.
