Archives IdentifierAF066Date Range1898-1937DescriptionDuring the period from the 1890s to about 1937, carbon copies of outwards correspondence were collated into volumes and bound as 'letter books'. Some sets were compiled in relation to persons in key management and administration positions in various locations, such as General Manager, Sir Charles Holdsworth, D D A Aiken, Walter Green, etc. Other sets were compiled in relation to the secrecy or personal nature of the contents - Ordinary letter books, Semi-private letter books, Private letter books, etc.
As far as possible the current listing is a reflection of the original order of these sets, using cover information, signatures on letters, date range and content. It appears that many sets are incomplete. The sets, except for those for the Stores Department, have been listed in one sequence with additions to the titles and notes to assist in identifying particular writers or content.Quantity (Linear Metres)2.86MediumBound VolumeSystem of ArrangementIn sets/ groups by usage and dateCollection TypeWellington Museums Trust
