TypeAgencyDate Range1893-1939DescriptionJames Lachlan McIntyre spent most of his career working for the Wellington City Council, joining the staff as an Assistant Architect in 1923. Prior to that, he worked briefly in the office of Henry T Johns, having moved to Wellington from Masterton.
During his time with the Council he designed buildings on his own behalf as well, including a moderately large number of houses mainly in Wellington suburbs. At the time of his death in 1939 he was the Senior Architectural Assistant.
James was an Associate member of both the New Zealand Institute of Architects, and the English-based Incorporated Association of Architects and Surveyors. He had taken part in World War One and was badly affected by one of the German gas attacks.External LinksObituary of J L McIntyre
