For seven and a half years she worked with Connolly and Herrmann on Lambton Quay, before she and her husband established their own business in 1890. Richard Herrmann died in 1892. From 1894 to 1902, Herrmann had a studio in Cuba Street. Advertising described the business as 'Herrmann [sic] photographer by special appointment to His Excellency' (1902). Known years of operation in New Zealand are from 1892-1902.
