DescriptionNormally items are not digitised or made accessible until they have been fully appraised, arranged and described.
However there are some exceptions to this rule: where items have been identified with archival value and used for exhibition, display or access purposes, but archival processing has not been completed.
When this decision has been made the items are uploaded for public use, but still treated as accessioned items. They are all linked to this 'Series' record so Archives can control them, but the descriptors used are their accession information.
When accessions are processed, these items will be updated to their final archival arrangement and description.System of ArrangementIndividual items retain their accession numbering.
