Located between Willis Street/Nairn Street and Ohiro Road.
Brooklyn Road was likely formed by the time the suburb of Brooklyn was formed in 1888 but was not an official public road at that time. It would have been named after the suburb of Brooklyn, which was in turn likely to have been named after the Borough of Brooklyn in New York City.
In 1913, Brooklyn Road was referred to as a new road and a loan was being raised to finish it. In 1914, £3,500 was allocated for it.
In 1916 it was proposed that the new road to Brooklyn be named Brooklyn Road, from its junction at Nairn Street and Seagar's Corner (a local reference to the corner on Ohiro Road where a house owned by Mrs Seagar was located, now number 4 Brooklyn Terrace). The 'Seagar's Corner' junction is approximately where Brooklyn Road and Ohiro Road now meet.
