Swan Lane in a laneway that connects Cuba Street and Marion Street in Te Aro.
The Lane ran along the south side of the former Wakefield Hotel, historically known as the White Swan Hotel and colloquially referred to as the "The Dirty Duck" by patrons.
On the evening of 17 November 1939, two members of the Christian Pacifist Society were fined for obstructing a public place, after a public meeting held on Swan Lane was said to have overflowed onto the footpath of Cuba Street.
In 2022, Swan Lane underwent upgrades as part of Wellington's Laneways strategy and Green Network Plan.
