The transparencies have been annotated with street names. The record maps record road and section boundaries, and as-built water, drainage and stormwater reticulation.

Based on knowledge of similar records held and used by WCC it is though the two were often used in conjunction with each other. They were used as in-house reference tools for various purposes, such as processing building and land use applications, and managing infrastructure such as water and drainage pipes.

Flown in 1986, transparencies created at a scale of 1:500, they use the NZMG indexing system, but also have an in-house numbering system (numbered 1-102). This was done by NZ Aerial Mapping in October 1986, producing 102 transparencies at a scale of 1:500. The transparencies use the NZMG grid, then in common use by local authorities, this is different from the grid system used for the record sheets, but was in common use in local authorities by the mid-1980s.
