Since their inception in 1973 they have supported their paying members by creating a structured environment to share ideas, experience, resources and information. WnPIA are affiliated to the New Zealand Property Investors Federation Inc with funding supported from both membership and partnership options.
In late 2020 both the Wellington Property Investors' Association and Capital Property Investors Association formed a new and combined Association to bring the two together choosing "Wellington Property Investors' Association" as their name going forward.
