Built in 1973 owned by Gannel Shipping Ltd,. Chartered in 1973  by the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand and renamed `Union Aotearoa'; to trade in conjunction with the Dutch Royal Interocean Lines to southeast Asia and later used in trans-Tasman trade. Purchased by Union Steam Ship Company in 1977 but sold to China Ocean Shipping in 1978.
