The Association was committed to the progress of Wellington and the promotion of the best possible local Government in the Wellington area.

This series contains minutes of the Association from 1950-1989; material relating to their involvement in the 1977, 1980 and 1873 local body elections, and two newspaper clipping books documenting their involvement in the 1977 local body elections.
