Archives Identifier00167Date Range1873-1876DescriptionThis series contains the rating information for the Kaiwarra (or Kai-Warra, Kaiwharawhara) Local Board district, which operated from 1864 to 1882.

Entries are handwritten and include the name of the person liable to pay rates, number of acres, value, amount [to pay], owner or occupier, and remarks - mostly the block or lot number and a description, such as 'Part of No. 3 Harbour District'.

Entries are chronological and, within each year, alphabetical by last name. At the end of each year there is a ruled double line, and the 'Recapitulation' details are added. This is the total amount for the value of the land and the amount to pay. The volume is used only up to folio page 5, with the remainder blank. It appears it was intended to reuse it, as the cover has a paper label, ' Building Permits 1906', crossed through.
