Indexes were originally held at two locations - the Karori Cemetery and the Town Clerk's Department in Wellington.

Up to 1930 in alphabetical order by first letter of surname then by year of burial. From 1930 in alphabetical order by first two letters of surname then by year of burial. Includes register number for each burial. After 1930 they include grave location, name, year, register number and burial plot deed number. Also notes whether deceased was a soldier, is buried in a paupers grave or had not paid for the grave [=NP].

In addition, this series includes an index to Soldiers' burials at Karori. No dates given but covers Boer War to at least 1936. Also covers some seamen. Arranged alphabetically by first letter of surname.
