The reports are a yearly review of the overall performance of the departments. They include summaries and commentary on the departments' financial performance and of significant projects undertaken during the year, as well as abstract statements of revenue and expenditure and balance sheets. Both the electricity and transport functions underwent a number of name changes over the years. Until 1926 reports were issued under the name of the Electric Lighting Department (see series 00576), from 1926 until 1963 the Electricity Department and from 1964 the Municipal Electricity Department (see series 00572). Until 1948 the Transport Department was referred to as the Tramways Department. Reports for years 1932 and 1935 are missing.
