The material appears to have come largely from the records of the WCC Transport Department, who prior to 1991/92 was responsible for running the Cable Car. The majority of the photographs are from the 1960s and 1970s and are of both the old Cable Car and the new one that was installed in the late 1970s. The rest of the series consists of ephemera items such as postcards of the Cable Car and passenger tickets.
