Archives IdentifierAC103Date Range1941-1970DescriptionThis series contains staff cards for the personnel of the Chief Engineer’s Department of the Wellington Harbour Board. Most of the staff members that have a card in this series may also be found in the main series of WHB Staff cards (AC054). The types of information recorded in this series are similar but not identical and these cards may include extra information that is not recorded in AC054. The card system appears to have been created circa 1941 which corresponds with when the Engineer’s file system was set up (see series AC058). The cards were updated until 1970, when they ceased to be used. The cards are arranged alphabetically by surname. They record such information as: name, address, date of birth, rank, starting pay rate, date joined, date finished and may include information on accidents and increases in pay. The cards also cross reference many of these to file numbers where the relating correspondence was held. Some of these files are not held by Wellington City Archives, in particular the ‘Staff Files’ that were held for each individual which had a generic file number of 21.01/2.
