Information on long-serving staff can go back to the1920s. There is a separate section at the end of the stewards sequence headed: Stewardesses. Cards can (but not all do) record name, place of birth, date of first joining, Union number, age, position (steward, cook, baker, waiter, pantryman, scullion, bugler, pianist - or stewardess, laundress or nurse) with description (forecabin, bedroom, boots, etc.), name of ship, dates of service, reasons for leaving and dates, and the port where they departed.
