Archives IdentifierAF043Date Range1897-1974DescriptionThis series contains an incomplete set of monthly lists of master and officers, arranged by ship names. Included at the start of the series are two handwritten notebooks (1897-1903) that contain similar information to the early printed forms. These forms are headed: Captains and Officers. For first years there are separate forms for passenger and cargo vessels, 1907-January 1921. The later lists (1970s) refer to New Zealand and Australian articled ships only, not all the ships managed under contract by the company. After Aug 1926 the lists are annotated to indicate officers with a wireless certificate or who operated as radio officers. After April 1945, the title of the forms changes to Masters and Officers; after April 1946, the forms have a separate column for radio officers and are retitled: List of masters, deck officers and radio officers. The lists for 1976 include engineer officers.
