Archives IdentifierAL003Date Range1912-2012DescriptionThis is the historic paper records of the Association. The collection was sorted and boxed after the research for the book 100 Years was concluded and the book published in September 2012.

It is not a complete collection as over 100 years many papers have been lost and the attempt to trace and put papers together conclusively proved too hard and is probably impossible.

Previous attempts to keep the papers in an orderly fashion were made and during some years this was achieved, but like all volunteer societies the work load is great and the paper work often quite daunting. And so the pattern and style changed as new Officers and Committee members were elected and new ideas about how to manage the Associations records were adopted.

The collection includes minutes of committee and public meetings (note some volumes are held by Alexander Turnbull Library; index records have been created to reflect this and help with discovery), correspondence to and from the Association, annual reports and financial statements, and newsletters and publications.Quantity (Linear Metres)1.5MediumFileCollection TypeCommunity archives
