Their first bowling location was at a temporary green on Tinakori Road. By 1888 they were based at Wordsworth Street (now Aro Street) on Town Acre 45, with new brick pavilion being built in 1907.
It ceased to be a limited liability company and was incorporated on the 2 May 1939.
The Kelburn Bowling Club amalgamated with the Club in 1968.
The Wellington Bowling Club was located at 9 Aro Street until it was demolished in the late 1970s. They selected 8 Tanera Crescent as the site for their new club in the late 1960s and this continued to be their club location until 2012.
Wellington Bowling Club was dissolved on the 27 February 2013.
