TypeAgencyDate Range1995-1997DescriptionCommunity Services was one of the Service Delivery business units established as a result of the restructuring after 1994. It managed public programes involved with community arts, development, events, community halls, recreation programmes and centres, safer communities and road safety, and youth. The policy and funding functions were the responsibility of Social and Cultural Commissioning. After Dec 1997, there was another re-organsiation of Council departments and the Commissioning-Service Delivery split was largely abandonned. Recreation centres (including Community Pools and the Regional Aquatic Centre) were added to the unit and it became the Leisure and Community Services unit.
