TypeAgencyDate Range1 July 2004-DescriptionFrom 1 July, the Office of the Public Advocate was renamed the Issues Resolution Office. The name was changed largely to reflect that the purpose of the office was not to work on behalf of the public (argue their cause), but rather to look at unresolved complaints and issues objectively and help to find fair and reasonable solutions. It was also in response to feedback from the public that the name was too formal and might discourage valid complainants from contacting the office. The title of the manager, Mike Scott, became Manager, Issues Resolution and the Assistant Public Advocate's became Issues Resolution Officer. In addition to unresolved complaints, the office deals with LGOIMA requests and privacy issues.
