Record Identifier71Date Range1949-1966DescriptionThe TSMV Kaitawa was a collier built in Leith, Scotland by Henry Robb. It was built for the USSCo and carried coal on the New Zealand coast. On 23rd May 1966, the ship capsized and sank with all hands near Cape Reinga.
