Record Identifier297Date Range1907-1947DescriptionThe Terawhiti was a single screw steam tug built in 1907 by Ramsgate Ferguson in Leith, Scotland. The ship was engaged in many salvaging tasks around New Zealand before being sold to Sydney company, Howard Smith Ltd in 1947. The Terawhiti sank following a collision in September 1950 at Melbourne.

This set of materials was physically grouped by subject matter and placed into envelopes prior to donation to the Wellington City Archives. Some of these envelopes have information written on them, which has been transcribed and included below, where applicable. This information is only indicative of the contents.
