Originally founded by Robert Burn of Petone in 1921, and incorporated as a private company in 1923. The business was acquired by Alex Harvey Industries Ltd in 1965, which was later acquired by Carter Holt Holdings Ltd in 1985. Precision was eventually acquired by The Dexion Group in 2007.

CEMAC carried the agency for Precision and Dexion range of products, this relationship is likely how these photographs became part of this series of records.
