WCC, Environment Division Staff newsletters
Descriptive Data
Archives Identifier00714Date Range1991-1993DescriptionA series of newsletters produced to keep all staff in the newly established Environment Division "informed of happenings as quickly as possible". The newsletters appear to have been instigated by Alister Aburn, first Acting then later General Manager of Environment Division. They date from August 1991 through to March 1993, covering the period the Environment Division was first established, and the subsequent period of restructuring and change after that.
The aim of the newsletter was to keep staff informed of the restructuring changes as rapidly as possible and in as much detail as possible; to detail both the implications and effects of change on and to staff of the Division; and to encourage feedback and participation in the change process. It was intended to be published fortnightly, or as often as possible. Each newsletter ranges from 1-4 A4 pages long.
The newsletter compliments the "City Action" internal newsletter by concentrating on the effects of changes, including Council-wide changes, on the Environment Division. It was also part of a proposed "Management of Change Process" within the Environment Division.
As well as more administrative articles the newsletters contain a wealth of information about the structural development of the Environment Division, and the changes process that took place over this period. This includes organisational charts, descriptions of proposed units and their functions, and the planning and process proposed for the restructuring.Quantity (Linear Metres)0.11MediumFileSystem of ArrangementNumerical from Issue 1 to Issue 20. The newsletter published 10 June 1991 (between issues 7 and 8) does not have a number.Collection TypeWellington City Council
