Record Identifier59Date Range1949-1968DescriptionThe TSMV Kaiapoi, was built by Henry Robb in 1949 to serve as a coastal coal carrier out of the West Coast. The Kaiapoi served the Union Steam Ship Company (USSCo) reliably for 19 years before it was sold it to E K Litonjua Steamship Co Ltd in Manila and renamed Eddie K L before being demolished in 1973.

This set of materials was physically grouped by subject matter and placed into envelopes prior to donation to the Wellington City Archives. Some of these envelopes have information written on them, which has been transcribed and included below, where applicable. This information is only indicative of the contents.
