The ship was built with several improvements from its predecessors, particularly in the crew accommodation which featured single berth cabins and carpeting, and it included stalls for eight horses. In 1982, it was broken up in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
This set of materials was physically grouped by subject matter and placed into envelopes prior to donation to the Wellington City Archives.
