Cards record name, age (not all filled in), date of first joining, position (steward, cook, baker, waiter, pantryman, scullion, bugler, pianist) with description (forecabin, bedroom, boots, etc.), name of ship, dates of service, reasons for leaving and dates, and the port where they departed. There are multiple cards for long-serving staff and a few have attachments such as service records, etc. From about 1906 a card system was being created as well as the register.
