Harry Midgley was president of the Island Bay Residents Association from the late 1980s and he was involved in the creation and coordination of the Island Bay Festival. He was also the president of Capital Performing Arts Inc for over 20 years, which was originally incorporated under the name Wellington Orphans Club Inc until it's name was changed in 1988.

This series consists of: Correspondence and subject files compiled by Harry Midgley that are related to Island Bay and his involvement in the area; four clearfiles of newspaper articles related to Island Bay; and a folder of Wellington Orphans Club records 1970s-1980s.MediumVolumeSystem of ArrangementThere was not a clear system of arrangement, so a rough date order was imposed.Collection TypeCommunity archives
