TypeAgencyDate Range2002-DescriptionThe term ‘Infrastructure’ was first applied as a section of the Business Improvement Unit about 1999; it managed roading, traffic and transport and also water and waste sections. Business Improvement became Finance, Information and Infrastructure in 2001. By 2002 a separate unit Infrastructure was established with its own directo. It controlled roading operations, traffic operations, drainage operations, water supply and major projects such as Moa Point and waste water. As at 2010 the Infrastructure directorate controlled CitiOperations, WEMO, Parking Services, Road and Traffic Maintenance, Infrastructure Performance, Infrstructure Planning & Date, Transport Networks Operations, Kiwi Point Quarry and Transport Planning Between them these sections managed the city's network of roads, footpaths, cycleways, drainage, waterworks and Kiwi Point Quarry. It also managed solid waste, including collection and transportation.
